So many things about this former farmhouse shout out to be admired, so much so that it is very hard to focus down on just one of them, but mother nature always wins in the end. A house can be made to look amazing but views like this cannot be made, they are just there; changing with the seasons and making us fall in love with them at each turn.

This was why 30 years ago two young dreamers bought a ruin, in the hope of re-creating a vantage point worthy of the view it had looked over since the 18th century and hopefully would look over, for quite a few more centuries to come.

The main house has three bedrooms, with an impressive lounge and bespoke kitchen;  the original plans were for two attached gîtes; but after renting the first one out they decided to maximise privacy for owner and holidaymakers alike and just have the one. In the middle of the countryside, but only minutes away from St Laurent de Céris and only 16 minutes from the nearest main town at Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure, you have the best of both worlds here in the 5 house hamlet set on top of the hill looking down over the Sonnette valley.

The current owners bought the property in 1987 and have spent the last 30 years turning it into the masterpiece that it is today in-between exploring the wonderful scenery  on their doorstep that is the Charente.

The house has mains water and electricity, gas (underground tank)  and the heating is an oil fired central heating system with wood burning fires for ambiance. Drainage is to a fosse which conforms.
