The sheep that line the road through the village of Mézières-sur-Issoire are a testament to the name the village made for itself many decades ago; you still have a small sheep market there once a month. These days it is a much sought after location for French and International buyers as it has a peaceful environment, good commerce and schools together with easy links to the south and north of France and beyond.

Not far from the house is the village of Mortemart, said to be one of the most beautiful villages in France, together with the Monts de Blond; just after Bellac, with a multitude of hiking trails.
