This house is packed with a lifetime of collecting and memories, which means you could be forgiven for not seeing what a marvellous home this would be and also the detail and passion that has gone into this home since the current owners became her owners in 2008. A nicely sized 3-bedroom property with a beautifully private garden, set in a small hamlet, but only 5kms from the centre of Charroux and 6kms from Civray town centre; giving you tranquillity with accessibility on one very competitively priced package.

Charroux is known for its octagonal tower which is all that is left of one of the most powerful Medieval Benedictine abbeys, founded at the end of the 8th century by Count Roger of Limoges under the protection of Charlemagne. The large abbey church, (11th C) has a typical Carolingian architectural style.  Civray also has a rich history and a castle, now in ruins; the church of St. Nicholas, is a masterpiece of the Romanesque architecture and well worth a visit. Both towns have everything needed for everyday life.

Getting to the area is easy with flights from many UK airports into Poitiers (64km) and Limoges (96km) with trains at Ruffec - 21km having links to services to Poitiers train station where you have TGV connections to Paris, Bordeaux, London & Brussels.

The current owners bought in 2008 and have fully insulated the property and changed all electrics and plumbing as well has changing the interior to their style.

The house has Broadband, Mains Water, Gas (Bottled), 2 wood Fires for heating with ceramic electric radiators for back up; should they be needed in this exceptionally well insulated home. The house is double glazed and drainage is to a Fosse installed in 2011.
