Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure has many historical buildings, but is mainly known in recent years for its “Mémorial de la Résistance” which was erected on 2 acres of land given by PASCAUD family who played a great part in the resistance, Guy PASCAUD being one of the 3 men instrumental in creating “Le maquis Bir Hacheim” in 1943
