The Region

Champsac is a small commune in the Haute Vienne department of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. It is part of the Périgord Limousin regional natural park. The biggest city in the Haute Vienne is Limoges which is only 30 minutes away and has international rail links and an international airport. We are minutes away from major road routes through France. The area is popular with tourists as the region is renowned for its walks (saint jacques de compostelle), woods lakes, cycling and history, and so it is perfect for walkers, fishermen, cyclists, artist, bird watchers etc, yet Champsac has remained a beautiful and peaceful French village surrounded by stunning views. The Limousin is famous for its beef, porcelain and gloves.

Champsac is a thriving ancient French commune and home to about 700 people, living in a mix of ancient and brand new homes. We have two historical churches. As well as a bakers, general shop, hairdressers, wine merchant, a post office at the mairie and a small school . There is also the famous Delouis Fils mustard is made here just outside the village, and other businesses.

And of course Le Champsac, with its restaurant, bar, hotel, tabac and function room
