French Estate Agents

Date: 25th Jan, 2017

I remember first coming to France in 2002 to look for a property, things were a little different then, we found, bought (well signed to say we would and assumed that was it) and walked away clueless within 3 days. We came back 4 months later and had trouble even finding the village never mind the house!

When I first started my business in France I vowed that I would make it easier and clearer for those coming to me to buy and try my best to work harder for those wanting to sell. I have a strong customer service/sales & marketing background from my previous life in the UK; hopefully this has benefitted my clients; buyers and sellers alike.

Property Sales in France is the trading name I decided on back in 2009, since then the name has gone from strength to strength, this last year culminating in an Award for Best Independent Agent in France 2015. I thought it was only the big boys who got awards, but this has emphasised to me the need for smaller businesses; giving a more thorough, one to one professional service.

I work under the professional card of a French/Dutch Agency, which means I have a multilingual team at hand should the need arise. I cover a 40-50km radius from my home at Le Bouijoux, which takes in villages and towns in the Vienne, Haute Vienne and Charente.

The service I provide is a simple one, my website gives people everything they need, seller price, agency fee's and notaire fee's together with what I hope are good pictures, a comprehensive write up and the location of the property. I believe that trust is a 2 way street, so I trust from the outset giving every detail I possibly can and hope it is reciprocated, normally it is.

I do not hard sell, we all know a home is a heart decision at the end of the day, you either fall in love or you don't. Hopefully what I do is put people at ease by making sure they have all the information at hand that way they can concentrate on the houses and not be sidetracked by other worries or lack of information.

After the sale I am there, to help with utilities changeovers and anything else that may crop up and that can last a long time; not a problem as it is a promise I made.

The next step in my business is to get better and give even more information to new clients; hopefully I will do that with this blog, but not every post will be a serious one as it will also be good to show you the lighter side of life from an estate agents point of view........
